Girls Inc. of Greater Pittsburgh (GIGP) is hiring! We are transforming the world by building a pipeline of powerful and diverse leadership through our mentorship model. Come and be a part of this vision of empowering girls and women to realize their inner strengths to dream and do.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS SHOULD APPLY BY APRIL 30 FOR PRIORITY CONSIDERATION.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an immediate need for part-time, non-exempt Chapter Coordinators in the Pittsburgh region. GIGP is actively seeking applicants who are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs at Point Park University & Carnegie Mellon University. Responsible for coordinating various activities and initiatives for assigned GIGP college chapters, the Chapter Coordinator role serves as the primary point of contact for chapter members in providing support and resources that contribute to the growth and impact of GIGP at the college level. As a Chapter Coordinator, you will not only be serving your campus chapter members and the youth they mentor, but you will also be providing invaluable insight to GIGP about your assigned chapter and how we can optimize our programs. The Chapter Coordinator role enhances GIGP's ability to gather important data and feedback while improving the mentor experience.

GIGP will accept applications through April 30, with interview invitations to begin on a rolling basis. The anticipated start date will be in mid-July 2025. However, applications will be accepted after this date for unfilled positions. The pay rate for Chapter Coordinators is $17.50 per hour.

This is a hybrid position, and the seasonal work schedule for successful candidates is as follows:

  • July – September (10 – 25 hours per week)
  • October – May (15 hours per week)

Chapter Coordinators will remain on the seasonal schedule listed above for the duration of their enrollment at their college or university, unless or until the candidate or GIGP elects to make an employment change.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Reporting to the Program Manager role, the Chapter Coordinators collaborate closely with the GIGP program team. Providing immediate support to the organization’s Program Managers, the Chapter Coordinators will engage with college chapter partnerships to develop, enhance, and retain relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The Chapter Coordinators directly support GIGP’s program team to ensure the successful operation of their assigned college chapter. This role is mainly administrative, but it does require frequent follow-up and possible visits with stakeholders (sites and community partners) and chapter members. The responsibilities and duties include the following essential functions:

GIGP Chapter Assistance:

  • Help Chapter Directors and e-board implement strategies to recruit and engage chapter members (including, but not limited to, planning and organizing chapter events, meetings, workshops, and other activities to foster a sense of community and fulfill the chapter's objectives).
  • Facilitate regular check-ins during chapter meetings or with members to share ideas, updates, and challenges.
  • Coordinate with mentors and Chapter Directors in preparation for Mentor Summit and the program year (ensure all mentors submit registration forms).
  • Share program year calendar, timelines, and deliverables with Chapter Directors and mentors
  • Assist with curriculum supply coordination.

GIGP Program Site Assistance:

  • Act as a liaison between chapter and partner sites to support the coordination of program logistics (time, program space, Dry Runs, mentee registrations, etc.). This means you will have frequent contact with program Site Facilitators, and may require visits to program sites (especially at the beginning and end of each semester).
  • Confirm program rosters, collect attendance from Site Leaders, and enter data into Salesforce when necessary (especially at the end of each semester).

GIGP Evaluation and Program Team Assistance:

  • Collaborate with the GIGP's program team to understand chapter goals, objectives, and action plans.
  • Execute the Mentor Hours spreadsheet at the conclusion of each semester.
  • Serve as a point of contact for chapter members, implementing support and resources provided by the GIGP office and informing them about upcoming events, opportunities, and other relevant information.
  • Represent GIGP in meetings, conferences, or events at the college level as needed.
  • Help facilitate, analyze, and report college program evaluations.
  • Ensure that GIGP Chapters are upholding the policies and procedural expectations of the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING ALONG

Required Education & Experience: Currently enrolled at a college or university that is in partnership with GIGP. Participated in GIGP’s program as a college mentor for at least one full year or two semesters. GIGP also highly desires the following levels of experience:

  • Previously held positions of leadership (e-board member, site leader, etc.) in your chapter are desired, but not required!
  • Candidates who are in their junior year of college are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Other Qualifications: To be optimally successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience and ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including other college mentors, Site Facilitators, and mentee families.
  • Ability to occasionally commute to partner organizations, program sites, and the assigned college chapter (this means you have flexibility in your schedule during site times).
  • Ability to meet quick deadlines and consistently meet with GIGP program staff.
  • Experience in Google Suite and Salesforce (If you have limited experience in these programs, GIGP provides training for you to feel comfortable on these platforms).
  • Stable internet connection and ability to sit and view a computer screen for prolonged periods of time.
  • Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers due to typing and the ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
